What To Use For Siding In AZ ? Just Say No To Stucco

What are my options for a siding look in AZ? Everything here is either stucco or cheesy T1-11 type siding that turns to crap if not painted every 3-5 years.

I am building a farm/craftsman style home and want a more traditional look. The heat is obviously an issue but so is moisture as the house will have a lot of plant material (I am a landscaper) and irrigation, misters, in short moisture. Not New Orleans type moisture but more than you would think for AZ.

Any Ideas?

Have you looked at Hardiboard? That survives here in FL.

Bullet-proof housing is Hardiboard housing. Works anywhere. Easy to deal with.

Fiber cement siding looks awesome and comes in many textures and styles, you can't beat it.
