What takes 0.15% of your time......

and would be a great thing to do?

Give blood.

I went for the first time in my life to voluntarily give blood this
morning. I hate needles passionately, but it is obviously good for the
community. It takes 2 hours max. I was there for 1½ hours. They ask you
questions like "Have you had sex with a male cow in England?"....simple
questions like that.

I would like to think that with 40,000 members here on CT if I could persuade
1% of the people here to go give blood, to make it a habitual gesture, it
would be a huge infusion into the American Red Cross supply of something
that is always in need.

I know in my past I have needed someones selflessness of giving to not only
help myself, but also my wife.

In this tough time of people needing things, I'm asking you....will you please
give? It costs you nothing except a very small amount of your time.

Go here to find a local blood drive

I don't know about giving blood then. That's getting kind of personal. Hell, it was only a one night stand.

Sorry, between the tattoos and spending time every year overseas, they never let me give blood. I've offered it up numerous times but they always say 'no'. Too risky of a lifestyle.

How many months after having sex with a male cow do you have to wait before your blood can be acceptable?

Yea, most of us ones that were in the military can forget giving. Not allowed. Especially if you went to the ME. They turn away alot of otherwise very clean folks with their requirements.

Yeah, I was surprised a little by the exclusion of military personnel, but I see their general reasoning. Different countries, tattoos...

touché heritage. good one, I left myself open for that one.

My Wifey went today to deliver food to the elderly. They prepare them at a local church and you deliver them to the homes.

She was surprised at the amount of people that turned out to help.

She was also surprised how many people needed the food. If I don't have any estimates next Saturday I am going to take my truck and go with her.

What the heck are you going to buy for a penny?

Oh, why not. Stop by the house; I'll leave it under the door mat for you. And no interest for a year.
