What Is This?

The top is slotted for a screwdriver. I saw a guy bore a hole in the concrete with a hammer-drill, then he used a hammer to drive one of these into the hole. He 'got them from his boss', but had no other information.
I would like to know what this nail/screw is named and where it could be purchased. Any help is appreciated.

I think it's called a perma-grip screw. You use that in the same method, pre-drill and hammer these in. I've never used them but I've seen them.

I personally hate placing tap-cons.

Powder actuated (Ramset) serves me fine 99% of the time, and that aroma of cordite is satisfying.

Can you recall where you have seen them?

Thanks, Gene. Similar, but not quite the same. It may work in the same manner.
