I know that there is a thread already for famous people we have done work for, But I just had to do a little bit extra bragging because, well basically, I am too excited about it. I fixed one of Wayne Gretzky's doors. I was only there for an hour, but he showed up when I was half way through. Dont worry I kept my cool.

I love hockey. In fact, I just got home from a pickup game. That must've been some thrill to be working at the Great One's house. Does he need any recessed lighting?

The thing i realized with these higher end clients, is they don't like to let everyone know what their job is.

When i first signed the job with the guy that was President of a 700 million dollar company, he told me that he just "worked for xx corp"! He didn't tell me he WAS the company.

I just met with a guy this week. I ask him what he does for a living. He just mumbes 'I am in the music biz". Turns out hes a GM for a very big company. A little google search turns up alot of info.

I am finding out that the guys that are really big shots don't brag about it and like to keep it quiet.

Honestly, i am finding out alot of these big shots are just like you and me. Their real people. After you work on their houses for a couple months stright, you get to know them really well.

I love working for the big names. As a newer company, i do not have the biggest profolio. But once i start pulling out referals letters from big names, it really helps.

Yeah, I got called to do a door repair by a guy named Tim. I guess Tim just takes care of his house for him. I thought it was Tim's house, but when I got to the house there was a package in the front for Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gretzky. I thought it was weird, and even weirder when I walked in, and saw a picture of Mrs. Gretzky on the wall. I asked Tim if he was a physical therapist for the Coyotes or something, because he had a thick Aussie accent and there was no way he could be a player, and he told me he took care of Wayne's house. It was really hard to keep from freaking out. About 20 minutes into fixing the door, Tim gets a phone call and says that it is okay to come in. Next thing I know Wayne is pulling up in his Land Rover, followed by the rest of the coaches of the Coyotes! I don't want to sound like a school girl, but it was freaking surreal.

Yeah, I would be pretty stoked to meet Katz. He is a famous carpenter. Oh yeah, and Jesus was a carpenter. .

If your referring to Gary Katz he gets around. I see him every year at the JLC show. I've never seen anyone ask him to sign anything....that would be funny. I had Norm Abrams (SP) sign a 2x4 once but don't tell anyone.
