That is classic... Probably some pyscho killer looking for an excuse to show up at someones door. The lumberyard where they bought the board would have cut it in half (even Home Despot).

No, you'd have two 12' 2x4s.

do I have to have a license in Iowa ... do I need to permit the job ... can you guys help me out with how much I should charge for a job such as this? does he want 2ea 2x4x12 or 2ea 2x8x6? ... i have no idea what to charge ... thanks for your help

At leat this person knows their limitations. Some people should never touch sharp objects. Especially sharp objects that spin at high rpm's. But I thought everyone owned a handsaw. guess not.
