Trade Magazines And Business Magazines, Which Ones And Where To Suscribe?

Which trade and business magazines does each of the trades suscribe to?

Do contractors only read those that are trade specific?

Start to generate a comprehensive list of those that you find most useful.

Here is a short list of some of my more well read ones. I remember someone a little while ago posting a link to a directory to suscribe to a multitude of various magazines. That would be helpful if anyone remembers it.

Qualified Remodeler
Professional Builder
Journal of Light Construction
RSI Roofing, Siding, and Insulation
Professional Roofer
Tools of the Trade
Bottom Line and the business version too
Replacement Contractor (added on)

I am a big fan of REMODELING CONTRACTOR published by Hanley Wood. Great magazine. Has really interesting articles and good information from everything to field applications to marketing to thier BIG50 contractors every year.

Also, as a commercial drywaller I am a fan of Walls & Ceilings Magazine published by BNP Media.

Hanley's free ones are great. Check out Replacement Contractor. Do you attend the big 50 conference?

I also recieve the REPLACEMENT CONTRACTOR magazine, just got one today actually, focusing on roofing. I usually read a few of the articles, it has alot of good sales information in it.

I did attend the 2004 Big50 Conference, but sadly that is the only one.

you?

Planned on the 2005 but had a death in the family. Went to the 2006, and I need to book a room for this year. Last year I waited until the last minute for a room and had to beg for a discount. Do you drive there or stay there?

Depends on where it is. A couple years ago they had thier Remodeling Expo right here in Baltimore. But if I were to travel there I would most definetly stay, it's worth the price, and you get a chance to see more without having to go to bed at 8am to get up at 4am to make it there on time.
