Tool Truck Came Today Brought Me A New Saw

Local tool guy brought me my new DeWalt DW717 SCMS today ,got it out of the box & all adjustments were right on! played with it a little & it seems like a pretty good saw, the old 12" DW708 was gettin tired. I am interested to see how it performs with a forrest or freud blade.

Thats funny, I have had a couple circular saw blades sharpened.

I have 6 in rotation, 3 per saw. They are pricey but, worth it.

I cant remember how many times I can have one sharpened.

That web page will let you find a dealer as well.

My good friend is a dealer for them.

It was pretty easy to get that set-up from what he told me.

Find yourself a local sharpener and become good friends with him.

It isnt much to have a blade sharpened, 10-15 bucks.

I was just wondering what it was costing everyone to get their blades sharpened. Bene getting mine done for .15 a tooth here. Guy that does it is retired and does a fantastic job. Chisels, knives even my planer blades for the dewalt 13". Get this the guy's last name is Dull.

OP should be happy with his saw. I have the older 12" model and it has been fantastic!

I absolutely love the Matsush!ta blades. I have not however had luck with it in the SCMS. Thin kerf is too flexible and the blade wanders. I use Tenryu's for mine. The Matsush!ta goes in my worm drive and Makita 5005. Glass smooth cuts. I hate splinters.

For a SCMS you need to look at their heavy duty workhorse line. The Kerf is thicker on these and I have had no issuse for the past year and a half.

The only thing I noticed about these blades is that they can get to singing in a UniSaw.
