Crucial, but it was a crane.

Re: Three Dead In Boston Scaffolding Collapse

It was one of those elevated platforms that pulled away from the wall, i believe. The GC, Macomber, rented it. I dont know who installed it. I would imagine the rental co. The bricklayers were using it at the time. I've been on those before and in temp elevators that were bolted to the side of the buildings, especially old bldgs. Very scary

Re: Three Dead In Boston Scaffolding Collapse

Too close to home. I know John Macomber, built Faneuil Hall Marketplace and a hospital addition with him. He and his company are the best in the business. And this happended next door to my dentist and next to the theatre where I saw Spamalot last Friday night. Emerson has been slowly taking over the buildings on the block for college dorms. My dentist will be moving out next year and cranes and other equipment have been in the street for years. Sad day here.

Re: Three Dead In Boston Scaffolding Collapse

Makes me glad that the tallest building here is 3 stories.
It also saddens me to think what the famoloes are going thru. Just recently here we had a head on collision that killed three people. One of the people that was killed was the father of a very good friend of mine. The other two were the daughters of the woman that caused the wreck. She was late getting them to dance class. Wet road, too much speed (70/55) and passing over a double yellow line. The girls were not seatbelted.
Lets all be safe out there.
