Is There Any Part Of Country Where The Construction Market Is Booming?

Is there any part of country where the construction market is booming?

During past recessions there were areas that still thrived. I can't find one this time. Can you?

Our area is the same as always. I wouldn't know there was a problem, except the news keeps telling me there is...

It seems even Oklahoma is seeing a bit of a downslide as of late, hopefully it will be short-lived.I try not to dwell on it.

It's not looking good in CA. Lots of foreclosures and everyone seems to be holding off on the home improvements.

Although, there is a flipper at work in my neighborhood, on a house that sold for over a mil.

I hear that a lot from different parts of the country. What is it? No layoffs, no foreclosures?
I read today where half of the mortgages in the State of Nevada are in some form of default or arrears.

If you think its bad where your at, just come to Michigan for awhile
There was article in the Detroit News today, that lumber is worth more sitting in the lumber yards, that it is building a house... Because the house value's are so low here. New construction won't appraise for more than the cost to build So no one can get financed

Things certainly slowed down the last part of 2008 but seem to be picking back up again here in Hotlanta, GA.

WNY never peaked like most areas in the boom so there was not much of a rise to crash. We are slowing down but not as bad as other areas. Slow but steady describes it best.

Its seems the areas with the most money and benefited so much from the housing boom seem to be hit the hardest.

Over inflated the value of the house. Same with the stock market. Things just need to settle down to their real values. I feel for the people who bought homes when "values" were peaked out. Seriously, you had to see it coming.
