Thanks To The Big Guys!
I have had a name for myself for about 5 years and trying to feed my family from that. About 4 years ago I divorced my b***h ex-wife and went under the radar. I stuck to small jobs on my own while bigger contractors were always giving me big jobs under them. It was ok but the need for the big guy became more and more. Finally I became more or less an employee with a luxury home builder whith the understanding that I still would still do little jobs here and there under my name. You can see where this is going. He has always given me work when I needed it and been there for me and my family. I have tried to do it on my own but with my family size and mortgage payments etc it is nice to have a steady paycheck. So in the end I would like to thank all you big guys out there helping the little guys. With this economy the way it is I would be homeless with a wife and 4 kids. So I am no longer in it for myself... I am a a company man now and appreciate the chance to be so. Maybe someday I can go back at it. I hope all of you here do not think less of me for giving up. Once again THANKS TO ALL!!!!

You'll be back. This is just part of a cycle. When you come back, you'll be stronger than ever. Just no matter where you are in the cycles, get all you can get out of it.

Peaks and valleys my friend! You have got to look out for yourself. Take care of that fam! You will be back, probably more motivated and a little smarter. Fresh starts are always good, even if they are in the same line of work.

Re: Thanks To The Big Guys!
You take it where it's steady, nothing wrong in that.
I'm back working with the guy I started with over 20 years ago. But now we trade being the boss. Not burning bridges is a good thing |

Re: Thanks To The Big Guys!
You made the right choice. And the way things are, a paycheck is the most important thing.
I may be headed that way myself if I don't get some business in the door. Carry on, be well. |

Re: Thanks To The Big Guys!
A year or two ago he might of caught crap for not making it on his own. Now it's cool that people can set their pride aside so they can provide for their family. I know guys that are NOW proud to make $60-$200 a day unlike a year ago when they would not roll out of bed for under $1000 a day.

Re: Thanks To The Big Guys!
If your parents are still living and you have total trust in them, put the company in their name so if you and the wife ever seperate, she gets nothing.
