Tape All Drywall Seams Before Ceramic Tile Install?

I just hung my sheetrock in this bathroom remodel (dry areas) and am about to start laying ceramic tile on it-- is is necessary or recommended to tape all the joints? I have used mesh tape in the past with one or two quick coats of compound to fill in the voids created by the cove edges. I imagine taping the corners might make the room stronger, but is it necessary? Is any taping really necessary before tiling?
Thanks a lot

Always tape. For many reasons, one being moisture will find its way through those cracks over time and get behind your tile. Yes, it makes it stronger. It will also make your wall smoother for the tile and lessen the chance of a unsightly valley in your tile pattern, especially with a mosaic tile. You also want to prime the plaster, better surface adhesion for the mastic/adhesive.
