Re: Superintendants' Brother
After pow wowin with one of my ex co workers last night I found the real reason I was laidoff and that's a mindblower of a story also so I just won't go into it.
The good news is that I found a better job, more money and with old friends. Guess it's all meant to be! |

Re: Superintendants' Brother
Blood is thicker than water, every contractor Iv'e ever worked for has proven this to be true. When things got slow, who was the last to get the pink slip? You guessed it the relative. When a problem on a job came up, whose word was taken above all, the f-in relatives. It was explained to me on more than one occasion, that so and so has to be kept, no matter the detriment to the businees, to keep things copastetic at home. Remember you can pick your nose, but not your relatives!

Re: Superintendants' Brother
I must be different, but I fired my son in law for not wanting to work hard enough to suit me. Damn shame since he is really talented in construction, but his attitude sucked. He didn't expect special treatment, he just didn't want to work for me, but since he was unemployed, it was either come here, or move out since my daughter has no tolerence of not bringing home the money. He refused to work the Friday after thanksgiving, reason that he didn't want to drive all the way here (18 miles) for just one day. I told him to find a job that sutied him, since employees don't dictate working terms to me. So he is a tree trimmer now for $9 instead of working construction for $16.

Re: Superintendants' Brother
Sorry to here, But good guys that know what there doing are getting harder to find.
It will be their loss and someone Else's gain and if you find a good company that takes care of their guys it will be a win win situation for both of you. Good luck
