Storing 12 And 10 Inch Saw Blades

What's the best way to store extra 12 and 10 inch saw blades in a trailer, that is safe and takes up as little space as possible? I'm kicking around the idea of maybe mounting a big bolt on the wall with a wing nut or something and stacking them all to about 2 inches thick or something.

Here is a neat item for 10 " blades. I haven't seen anything similar for 12" though. It's called "blade runner" and holds 5 blades per side.

Mine just sit on the floor and get stepped on. But I like the bolt idea, I might just do that.

Re: Storing 12 And 10 Inch Saw Blades

In my garage/shop, I try to keep the packages they came in and then put them on a hook on pegboard - something my Dad always did and I picked up. In the trailer, I just have another hook on the side of my work bench and hang them there. For me, I usually keep most of my blades in the shop so I don't have more than 1 extra in the trailer.

I like the 'blade runner' idea and we use pegs in the shop. The bolt & board will work too but I'd put some kind of perimeter guard to protect the teeth.

Use hose washers or spacers between the blades to prevent tooth to tooth contact. It doesn't take much impact to knock a corner off of a carbide tooth.

That looks sort of like what I was thinking, only much smaller board.

I have the blade runner in the trailer. Keeps the teeth protected. I use cardboard between the blades.

My wife bought me a Cordura bag from Duluth Trading specifically for blades. It's light and has hard plastic inserts to seperate the blades. Looks a lot like a bag that holds jumper cables - just thinner. 2 handles for hanging and hauling.

Duluth has some of the best products I have ever seen, costly but worth it. I have a bag from them for my finishing tools, it has gone through some rough times, and still holds up. They really do make quality merchandise.

I usually HIDE them under my truck seat with my sawzall blades. Used to keep them in the trailer then realized that you get these guys that think when the paint wears off a blade it's time for a new one. Now I use less blades.
