The U.S. Chamber of Commerce filed suit seeking to block the requirement, joined by the Associated Builders and Contractors ....

No change. Nothing different than what has been done the prior 8 years.
The illegals will get the jobs only if the employers hire them. This is where unions would come in to put a stop to it by picketing sites and slowing the jobs down, causing the contractors who hire the illegals to get hurt in the wallet.....That is if the republicans hadn't been doing their best to wipe out the unions for the past 20 years.

Unions support illegal immigration, they could give a crap about the working man or the US citizen, all they care about is their cut.

No, I just read it in the srticle you posted the link to, and was somewhat perplexed. But then again, we all know some contractors do hire illegals.

Chamber of Commerce? I guess they are looking at the cash flow or the money that is spent by illegals.

It seems to bebusiness as usual to me. Well, maybe not for white middle class men who are in the trades now.

Re: Stimulus Jobs

That just burns me- Federal stimulus spending should be going to help Americans, not people that don't belong here in the first place. The fact that congress thought to put it in the bill, and then these groups worked to have it removed just angers me to no end.

I'm Rip Van Winkle.
By unions I'm talking about Carpenter's, Electrician's, Roofer's. These guys won't stand for it. They don't want US citizens taking their jobs let alone illegals. I have a friend who's a retired union roofer. I remember him telling me about guys who "took a walk" of a roof for crossing the union back in the '70's. When there was plenty of work the unions haven't raised a stink, now that their jobs are drying up you will see a lot more action on their part.

They don't have a choice, they'll be working with them the Unions are actively recruiting illegal aliens and anyone or anything else that can pay union dues.

Here is one of tons of stories on the Unions support for illegal aliens:

Quote:
Unions get behind illegal workers
AFL-CIO lends hand to day laborers with offers of aid, advocacy.
By Christian Zappone, CNNMoney.com staff writer
August 17 2006: 1:57 PM EDT

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- As politicians grapple with the thorny immigration issue, unions are stepping into the debate on the side of illegal immigrant labor.

Last week, the AFL-CIO signed what it calls a "historic partnership agreement" with the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, an association of 40 worker centers nationwide.
ECONOMY

Under the agreement local AFL-CIO unions will be allowed to establish formal ties with the local worker centers. The unions then work with and defend the NDLON centers as they seek decent labor standards and working conditions for their illegal workers. Link to full story
I'll say it again, the Unions could give two sh!ts about the working man or the US citizen, all they care about is their cut, they don't care if the money comes from a citizen or an illegal alien, they don't care if the illegal aliens lower wages or are out raping and killing thousands of Americans every year, they care only about the money, period.

I had to re-read the article again...cause I was just to pissed off the first time I read it that I only read half of the story. We'll see what happens in June/July if it passes legislation.

exactly right. and the union members keep voting democrat and keep staying members of the various unions while their own unions and the democratic party works to undercut their own members and supporters.. makes no sense to me
