With the economy the way it is, it probably won't be the last. That being said it dosn't make the situation any easier for anyone involved. I be praying for you and everyone close to him.

Re: Some Sad News To Come Home To

I was going to post a question, "how many people have thought about it". I get physically sick almost everyday before work starts b/c of money and worrying about where the next dollar comes from. I cannot seem to break out of the absolute depression that i am in. I am on medication, and I just can't seem to shake it. The powerwashing is almost dead right now, because of the winter coming up, and the demo is slow b/c of the low ballers. I dont even have enough money to fund any new jobs. My wife is scared that everytime the phone rings it's me. I just need some ideas. I can't take much more bad stuff...........Really

Re: Some Sad News To Come Home To

Nitrox

There are a lot of hard times going on in the world right now and a lot of people giving up and ending it. But I am here to tell you that things will get better. At the age of 19 I was one step away from ending my life. At that time in life I thought that things would never improve and that my life was worthless. I got brave at the last minute and did not follow through.

I am here to tell you that I am so glad I did not do it. I have a great life with my wife and children. I love being a business man, even in this tough economy.

I do as best as I can and what ever happens happens.

If I lose my house- I will rent a tiny apt
If I lose my car -I will buy a cheapo one
If I lose my customers- I will find new ones
Take my boat, my four wheeler, even my Harley It is just stuff.

Don't give up my friend.

Mark

Nitrox - have your DR change your medication. Different types or different dosages can do a world good.

There are two issues:
a) depression - we all get depressed from time to time when things are crappy, that's normal. But it's important to distinguish that from a medical condition. You can climb out of a normal funk by reason. Depression due to a medical condition, no amount of positive thinking is going to correct the chemical imbalance in your brain. Which is what makes medical depression so destructive. So, step one is to make sure you get medically checked out in a serious fashion and treated if the source of the depression is medical.

b) the life situation - Life is long, man. And only a few things really matter. Numero uno is your health. If you have a working back and legs and arms and mind, then you have everything you need to take control of your life and make it better. The house, the car - meaningless. Most successful people are successful only because they picked themselves up from personal disaster at least one more time than they were smacked down by life. You can do it.

Re: Some Sad News To Come Home To

About 4 years ago I was in the niddle of a big renovation job. I was also a silent partner in an expanding foam insulation business. In about a for month period I had the foam rig burn on me die to a defect in the design, I finished the renovation project but ended up having to walk away with a $10,000.00 loss, and the constuction industry dried up at the same time. I was left with 3 girls ( one of which was born while all this was happening) a wife and no money. Creditors were calling the house about 20 times a day and my credit was shot becouse I still had to pay off some of my suppliers that I owed. My wife and I were seriously thinking that we were about to go bankrupt.
The point I am trying to make is I don't know your religeous background but I am telling you that prayer will make a difference. My wife and I prayed to God to show us what to do and He impressed me to call an individual that had contacted me six months earlier about helping him do maintnance for forclosed properties. I called him and he had me working the next day. It is still tight for us but I am happy, I still havd my house and my children are happy. We are working at paying off the debt that we owe, and my wife is now running that business while I am able to now focus on what consrtuction jobs I have.
You will feel overwhelmed if you try to carry the load yourself. Assess what is really important and what is unnecessary and get rid of the unnecessary stuff. Just remember, food, clothing, shelter, and health should take priority over bills, resuralnts, and other things.
You will make it throough. The Bible says that God won't let someone be tempted and suffer beyond his capabilities. Just realize that if you can make it throough this you will be a stronger person. I would never want to have the experience I want through taken away from me because it litteraly changed the way I thnk, do business, and control my money.
Goo luck, and pray hard and with sincerety.
