Solutions

O.K. folks I am still a newbie here, so here goes my first official CT post.

With all the negative in the world, people not working and the sunshine State among others crashing at a high rate of speed. I thought it would be cool to have a thread dedicated to solutions only. In my position I could quit, shut down, and go under easily. It seems to be the "in" thing to do in my world right now. The truth is... there is no jobs, so I have to hang in there.

I am forcing myself to take on a 10/90 thinking everyday. I took it hard and personal when I laid some long time employees off a couple of months ago. Time to get them back....

10/90 thinking- 10% problem, 90% solution.

Problem- The world economy sucks, isn't going to change for a while. I now know without a doubt that Analysis leads to paralysis. No more watching the news. I will figure it out when it's over.

Solution my .02- Get up everyday, suck it up, and go to work. If there is no work visit ten potential clients per day. Real estate agents, hotels, register with the VA to do handicap baths for veterans etc... Go prepared copies of insurance, licensing, and local registrations. We are even getting certificates naming some insured so we are ready to go when the need us.(not insureing them jst a certificate citing them)
Wealthier clients are still spending money also.

The whirlwind hit our area almost two years ago. I made it thus far I am finishing the race. There is work out there we just have to work harder than ever to get it.

Anyone else feeling the crash and finding solutions?

Re: Solutions

wow, this has been a bit over-due here. solutions. I just signed two small custom jobs this week that will tide me over till the end of the month The only reason I got them is from not giving up. talk to everyone who will listen, even if you don't get a call this month, you can make an impression on them, when they need work they will call!! maybe show a customer how you can break up a project to smaller more affordable stages, and get some work that way. just don't get the deer in headlights stare from the economy. We can't change it, just do our best in it.
