I would be lying if I said I was in a different. The only time I really miss wearing the bags all the time is when the boys are making the final push. I'm a step in and help but other projects and other duties call. I really do miss it.

Oh and all the full time guys are getting paid that week too. Dad takes good care of us.

We don't always get to take the week off but it's usually a goal and we've met it more than we've missed it.

That is likely us as well. We just started the biggest remodel we have ever seen. The job is actually two big houses side by side. Lots of inside work, so I am pretty thrilled with that.

Re: So, Who Is Working Monday The 25th?

I always take the 24th and the 25th off. This year since Christmas falls on Monday Mario might want to take the 25th and 26th off.

He has 5 children so i want him to take as much time as he wants.

Re: So, Who Is Working Monday The 25th?

We normally schedule downtime Thanksgiving through New Years. Doesn’t always happen but we’ve become pretty accustomed to it. This year we finished our last project for 2017 on December 6th. We’re off until January 8th.

I’ll be golfing in Cali the 26th through the 6th.

Somebody’s got to do it!

Re: So, Who Is Working Monday The 25th?

Already started the break. Just some work on the shop until it all starts again on the 3rd.

Way to many people to catch up with, cooking and baking to do to let work get in the way.

Re: So, Who Is Working Monday The 25th?

I never used to take days off. It sets a guy up for burnout.

Things can wait. Even if ya love "working" I tend to think a guy needs rest and relaxtion. And even moreso if ya got a family. OTOH some guys can't afford the time off.

Work hard, play hard, life's short.

At 60, Im pushing myself hard to finsh up a complete bathroom remod and I'm starting to stress a bit. I'm hoping to get it done by next Tuesday, Thursday the latest. Plus I get my last payment from the HO.

Going to Oregon for Christmas , spend time with family. Won't be coming back until the 26 or 27. Then depending on what I need to do may not start back up until after the first.Leaving town is the only way I can stop myself from working.

Re: So, Who Is Working Monday The 25th?

Absolutely not! No way!

Oh, except feeding the livestock and milking. And I'm sure something will go wrong up at the ranch and I'll get called to go stop a flood or electrical fire somewhere. Seems to always work out that way.

Re: So, Who Is Working Monday The 25th?

Scrooge to Bob Cratchet on December 24 TH. .I suppose you will want the whole day tomorrow. Cratchet,if quite convenient sir. Scrooge,it is never convenient and it is never fair,if I was to withhold a days wages, you'd think yourself ill used, but you don't think of me as ill used paying a days wage with no work. Cratchet, but sir,Christmas comes but once a year. Scrooge,a poor excuse to pick a man's pocket every 25 TH. of December. Scrooge,be here all the earlier the following morning.

Even Scrooge gave Cratchet the day off.

Re: So, Who Is Working Monday The 25th?

If love to take a week or so off, but my winter has gotten busy. My summer sucked, so I gotta make it up now. Mostly indoor work, so it's not too bad.

I am taking a vacation from 2 projects the first of the year to work on a third project.

Better than the alternative for sure.

When the money/work is available, that's when you work.

Except Christmas day...

I'm definitely not going full bore. Heading in late and not staying particularly late either. It's the only time of year folks expect that.

Re: So, Who Is Working Monday The 25th?

We generally take off Christmas eve thru the first. Too much going on this year, we'll take off Christmas day and New years days and work the rest. All except one guy, he saved a week of vacation so he'll be off.
