So These Are Pretty Sweet!!

Part of my plans and goals this year was to be more organized. More tool organized and save some time and be more efficient. I do tons of repairs and service work, so anything to save me trips and make sure I have numerous things at arms reach. My Veto ProPac is sweet, heavy, but sweet. These are my newest and last, hopefully, additions to my new years goal.

Oooooooohhh! Show me More. SHOW ME MORE!

Very nice. I love "Compartmentalization". (A Symptom of Mild Mental Illness!!!)

Question.........The biggest problems that I have ever come across with "Modular Storage" is adjustable dividers and how well, or not well, they stay in place and KEEP proper parts segregation. Especially in the event of a "knock over" or extreme "Bounce".

Whatcha think 'bout this and the Festool?

Re: So These Are Pretty Sweet!!

The dividers fit really tight inside the drawers. The drawer clearance seems really tight above, no sloppy drawers. All drawers are locking with easy to open pull.

Those are nice, a little pricey but not to bad. Glad to here they seem "spill" proof. You should post some pics of the drawers when you get them filled up. Please. Thanks

Re: So These Are Pretty Sweet!!

ABS, I have 8 or so other systainers that house various tools and consumables. These things are pretty tough. They dont look like much, so far they look like new with a quick cleaning.

I will get a picture of the bottom of that systainer on top. The girlfriend sat it on the stove and put some thing in the oven, well the one burner gets pretty hot. It deformed the ABS some but, it is still in good shape.

Re: So These Are Pretty Sweet!!

There are 3 seperate boxes there, the top one has my drill, middle has 4 drawers, bottom has 9 drawers.

I got the one with 4 Drawers to hold my Grex pinner, pins, putty, glue and all the lot that goes with fine trim work.

The 9 drawer is for fasteners and such.

I have been working on filling these but, I thought about putting my C12 in the big drawer and all the other things that go with a drill in the drawers.

I think these would be perfect for an electrician as well.

Systainers are pretty good, I had a bunch and sold them. They were $100 a piece and I felt like they were a little too delicate. I actually broke one in half carrying it through a metal door frame when it was below freezing. I banged into the jamb and it was gone. For $100, I wasn't impressed, but I know a lot of guys like them.

That is VERY important to know. I DO NOT treat my tools nicely whilst using them. But when it comes to the end of the day. Cleaned. Stored and Inventoried.

Re: So These Are Pretty Sweet!!

Really Greg? I am pretty hard on the Systainers, I was told they hold up well in the cold. Man I wish I could have got in on the inventory reduction sale!

I worried a bit about them cracking in the severe cold, but I was told by my local dealer if one breaks bring it back and he would take care of it.

Now the problem is I am Festool Whore, and I enjoy the benifits of grabbing a couple stacks of systainers and having all I need in one trip.

Systainers are anywhere from 60-75 bucks.

The Sortainers are 115.00.

No one was more disappointed than me when it broke, considering how expensive it was, I was upset.

I have since switched to the $14.99 black and yellow clear-top Stanley boxes from HD. They hold up very well and at $15 each, I don't care if they break. All of mine are packed to the gills and are really heavy. No failures yet.

I have used the Stanleys and had a bit of "commingling" of small parts. PITA!!! Z boxes were no better.

What it do have are these Stanleys:

I'm a Maintenance guy so I do just about anything in the course of a day. I got one of these: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...327&hasJS=true for $19.95 just before Christmas. 5 boxes inside: Plumbing, Electrical, Threaded fastners, Pointy screws and Drywall screws. Plus 3 or 4 outside pockets for bigger stuff.

Re: So These Are Pretty Sweet!!

Plano has, and that probably is, the same thing. I used to use the inner plastic boxes to segregate key blanks when I was a full-time Automotive Locksmith. Worked well! But I had to hot-glue the dividers in place in order to prevent mixing.
