Slotted Screws And Other Peeves!
I hate rusted 2", rusty, slotted screws!!! Why use slotted screws to fasten shutters???!!!! slotted screws suck!
I don't care for combo head gray coat either...Torx for me! BUSHES....HTF can I do anything with taxis/yew bushes 4' high, 8' long, and 18" from the house? I had to pull siding around a window to fix a leak today... I spent more time today fussing with screws and wrestling a Fing hedge row, than I did actually working!!..... I did learn a trick today though...if you're struggling with a ladder and bushes. use the bushes as support for your ladder, opposite from the norm. If I had a sheet of plywood I would have used the bushes as staging! I also don't like the roofers next door with their gas powered compressor running all day...such a simple job turned into a major PITA!!!

Re: Slotted Screws And Other Peeves!
i hate when screws are in studs, and those stupid plastic things fall off, so when you try to take the screw out of the wall it just spins all day.

Re: Slotted Screws And Other Peeves!
Earlier this week I was helping with demo...all the light fixtures had 2" slotted bolts into the boxes....someone never returned my ratcheting screw driver....
I wish slotted screw would be outlawed!...it just doesn't have to be that way!

Re: Slotted Screws And Other Peeves!
I like when they not only use a slotted screw, but one that is 2 inches longer than necessary. I take down a lot of flourescent fixtures that are screwed into the box with 2 1/2 slotted screws. Nothin like holding it up with the other hand as you turn that 2nd screw for what seems like an eternity.

Re: Slotted Screws And Other Peeves!
Whatever you do, dont buy that "screw out" or whatever it is called. I was dumb enough to buy one and it's totally useless.

Re: Slotted Screws And Other Peeves!
What about the guy who uses a mixed bag of fasteners to get the job done. One slotted, a couple phillips, maybe a hex head or a Torx.

Re: Slotted Screws And Other Peeves!
Yeah, and a hole through your workpiece from a misguided attempt at perfecting your stroke. Those things were one of my favorite tools to swipe from my pops toolbox to play with when I was about 9 or so. I didn't know WTF it was for, but I pondered how it knew if it was in forward or reverse.
