Sher Wood Stains. Need A Color Advice From Someone Familiar With Them


I am helping someone pick out their stain for the new kitchen cabinets. the painter uses the sher wood type sherwin williams stains. she is wanting a dark mahogony type brown with a touch of red. has anyone used these stains? she showed me the cards but they are hard to pick out. i am not familiar with these stains

What's the situation? What wood species? Why is a painter involved? Are these new cabs? What type of top-coat?

Need more info.

the cabinets are oak. raw wood.

Best plan is to take the lady & some samples of oak into Sherwin Williams & let them put some stain on the boards for her to pick from.
