Set Backs

hey,
so it still out here is the sand box doing my job. good times had by all. over the past two weeks we had a final design review. now if you think about it the building have been under construction since 2002 and we are well past the point of final design but the is how the government works. so all these civilians come out to tell us what the need communications wise in the building and what they require from our CE guy if they hadn't told us that already. now nothing against regular civilians but DOD civilians don't do jack and try to pon all their work off on the active duty guys and from my experiences there nothing but a bunch of lazy bastards colecting a paycheck that woudl pay for 4 or 5 new airmen. anyways i ran some calculations lastnight and with all the changes we are sitting at 14% completion for all of the comm cabling in the building. (i don't do servers and stuff all i do is provide the infastructure). anyways we are scheduled to be fully operational by end of august. i am so screwed...

As I am prior service I know the DOD civilians don't do jack. Your also right about them paying for a few new airmen or soldiers. They don't do their jobs and can't be fired unless they are caught stealing rehanded.

My son is in Camp Echo now. I talked to him the other day and he says that is starting to get warm during the days..we are still freezing here in the NE. You know how i is in the service. Don't worry about what the rest of them are doing, just put your head down and go back to work and you'll stay happier. Dwelling on how screwed you are will depress you and you be screwed further.

Stay safe

Re: Set Backs

We called those guys "feather merchants" when I was in the service. And you're right, they suck the gov. titty dry.

Just part of the game that never changes I suppose.

Stay safe.
