Re: Service Magic/Contractor Talk

Nathan, why don't you create a page called servicemagic.htm and put links on it to all the negative posts on here about them?

Would be kind of justice for them to be paying to publicize the construction communities real feelings about them.

Re: Service Magic/Contractor Talk

lol, google searches for key words/subjects and then puts those links on the right side.

Say you want to look up "hack"...well then rbsremodeling would certainly appear at the TOP of the list on the right...it is not an intentional act by google to group subjects linked by key words in order to earn any subsidiaries for advertising.

ZING!

Re: Service Magic/Contractor Talk

The last line is chosen by the advertiser when he fill out ppc add. It's not given by google.

They intentionally embedded contractortalk.com into their add.

Its MR Hack splatter man

Re: Service Magic/Contractor Talk

I wonder how many other High PR Sites that SM is piggy-backing off of without their permission.

I surely hope that Nathan gets Google to do something about it.

I wonder if that is done as retaliation for the Service Magic Sucks Threads on this forum?

Wow! That takes some balls.

We were just talking to a SM rep on the forum about them Hijacking our domains and then they go hijack this one

Re: Service Magic/Contractor Talk

In reference to the sponsored link (contractortalk.com/ServiceMagic) this does NOT go to ServiceMagic.com. If you click on the link you are directed to cpadna.com. I am not familiar with this company or website. We are looking into this as well and appreciate the heads up.

Re: Service Magic/Contractor Talk

Yesterday it did go to ServiceMagic.com. Maybe it's an affiliate of yours?

I sent an email to Google either way. I think It's a violation of Google Adwords to have a URL listed that is not the URL the visitor is being directed do.

SMsupport,
The chances of you not knowing cpadna.com are somewhere between slim and non-existent, maybe you not personally, but definitely someone at your firm. Come on, we all know that SM is inter-mixed with so many ways of farming leads and then selling them any which way you can. No way would someone else be looking to PAY to accumulate leads unless they had a way to sell them. This forum is the wrong place to play the “I am as surprised as you game”. It’s better to just admit that you tried something and got away with it to a certain point. But then again, we are just contractors who have no idea what is going on so we will just put our heads in the sand. By the way, I am aware of a group providing your firm with some really innovative ideas to improve the service, based on surveys, and a lot of dialogue went back and forth, then it just fell by the waist side. The perception was that it would be better for the customer but take a little out of the SM pockets since it would be better quality to less people. Let me know if you wish to chat outside this forum.

Unfortunately google has a fraud protection system built in to monitor stuff like that. It would have recognized what was happening and credited them back.

i have been told that if you are drunk it takes about 4 hours to do a 1000 clicks on a ppc campaign.

Not that I would do this I heard someone talking about it once
