Section 8 Renter's

I've been a member of this forum for a couple of years and realize that the members here have a lot more experance, and business skills then the general public wants to give us credit for.

I know from reading the post over the years that many of you have rental properties.

I'm going to be renting my future wifes 3 br ranch, and I was wondering about any experance you may have with section 8 rentals.(of course the 1st person to call on the ad is a section 8)

thanks

Re: Section 8 Renter's

in NJ its illegal to refuse to rent to Section 8 (Thanks McGreevey!).

I have one bit of advice:

Run criminal background checks. I can tell you from experience (I have Section 8 apartments next to mine) what this article states is true.

Re: Section 8 Renter's

If you don't care about the place, like the Government in your business, enjoy constantly repairing the things the Section 8 folk break or having your rent withheld and you don't mind people living in your house for free and the Government paying you with your own tax dollars, go ahead. I will never rent to Section 8 and I don't say never that often. Take a look at these fine Section 8 people Link.
