Re: Rotary Laser Level

Was that a monolithic pour (footings and walls poured together at the same time)?

The cap is 2 1/2" thick. Yes forms got stripped this morning. No they poured the footing and cap and then the walls the next day.

Re: Rotary Laser Level

OK

How is the wall secured to the footing.
In most instances the floor is what prevents the bottom of the wall from kicking in. What are you depending on what to prevent this from happening. I realize that this is only a crawl space and there is not much fill.

Re: Rotary Laser Level

We have pieces of curved rebar every 18" all the way around set in the footing. The walls were poured around these.

Curved? as in bent on one end for a hook like on the end of the anchor bolt?

Re: Rotary Laser Level

No curved more like a half moon shape. Both ends are set into the footing and the walls poured over them.

Just checking. Has an engineer signed off on the foundation design?

Re: Rotary Laser Level

I dunno, I use a laser during the day on most of my projects. I can see the dot just fine, I just need to have it 'hit' something so I know where it is.
I don't usually use a grade rod, just a tape measure and the visible dot.

If it's that difficult to see, plan to arrive at the jobsite early, when shadows are longer and direct light is dimmer.

eric131, you get kudos for stayin' w/ this thread...trial by fire on this forum at times.
