CARPET INSTALLER PAY IN 1947
$1.00 a yard(from the library) times 7.37 for inflation SHOULD BE $7.37 per square yard in 1997 AND
$1.00 times Congress’ actual 10.69 inflation rate(could be more now) would make the price of installation........
$10.69 square yard, (if not more in todays time and age. These figures were before the fuel hike!)

If you work for a retail flooring store here, labelled as a subcontract labor, your dictated a piece work wage of $1.30-$3 a yard.
What happened??? This isn't just flooring either! It invades all trades.
Have the trades become a commodity?

Maybe this will open the eyes of some guys "subcontracting" that are not old enough to see the big picture, and only living for today.
