Removing Fiberboard From Concrete
I might be using the wrong term, but the fiberboard stuff that they put in concrete cracks.
I'm trying to get it out between the concrete patio and the house. But I'm having a really hard time. Any tips? |

Just leave it there
Seriously though, why do you want to remove it?

Bust out the patio.
I often have to remove some of this expansion material when preparing floors for VCT we either cut it on a vee from both sides at column pads. Not practical with a wall on one side then I use an old wood chisel but I don't try to remove all of it just 1/2 below the surface enough to level the floor with floor patch.

Re: Removing Fiberboard From Concrete
Well the fiberboard is the badstuff, it bowed from the water and some of it is popping out.
Anyways we solved the problem by taking out what we could by hand, and removing enough so we could put in the self-leveling cement filler (polyurethane based i think) great stuff, we added sand to it while it was still wet, should last for a very long time. |

probably shoulda just put in some backer-rod and caulked the joint instead...The expansion joint is in there for a reason.

Re: Removing Fiberboard From Concrete
Sounds like that is what he did. Polyurethane is flexible.
