Regrets

hey,
i know some of you out there are prior military. do you regret getting out and going into construction. reason i ask is i am currently active duty AF and am planning on getting out to go back into construction. last night i was at Lowe's and ran across someone who was very adamant that i should stay in. so i thought i would see how others have felt after getting out.
thanks

I got out as soon as I could.1985' CES 6510.I never did care for having to answer to anyone, not 24 hrs. a day anyways. But I did get my start in plumbing there and am proud to have served my country.I have no regrets getting out.If you're asking is this the best time to start a business, then I would say do you already have an established client base?If yes,you will probably be fine.I had a great business in the city I just left, but at 18,000 people the city did not offer enough entertainment or culture.I moved to OKC in June of 07 and it is tough.I have established some good contacts but I depend on advertisement to keep me going until the client base is large enough to sustain the business, and it is slow right now.In 10 months I haven't had to go into my savings and I am slowing gaining so I'm not complaining but I have a lot of extra energy if you know what I mean.Good Luck.

Re: Regrets

I regret not joining, to old and fat now. That and i have a family , i have been mentioning it to my son though and he seems eager to join when he is old enough. I would like to see him do the Military and then go in Law Enforcment, good money and early retirment.
