Recession Official

Like no one knew. It took them a year to figure it out for sure

Looking at the post WWII recessions, hopefully most of the recession has passed, depending on how long this one's going to last, of course.

I'm still optimistic for the year coming up.

Wicked Bad Recession!

The stock market plunges on confirmation. I loose more money waiting, trying to recoup the lost money (if the market rebounds) meanwhile I hold back on building the 2 vacation rental homes I was going to build early next year.

The lumber yard will not sell the wood, my a/c guy and a few subs will loose the work they would have had.

How does this recession work?

Just because George W. didn't want to use the word, didn't mean we weren't in a damn recession!
Optimism, me boys, optimism will get us through.
And in my case, a good Irish whisky as well. Jameson's preferred, not that Bushmill. That's Protestant whisky.
No offense intended. I'm just a mackeral snapper at heart.

I refuse to let it affect me. I will take 2-3 weeks during the holidays and formulate a plan on top of the stuff I got going now

I will make 2009 a great year. I got my butt whipped on a bit in 08.

2009 better look out for me

It'll be tough to make it through this one. I think its going to be two tough winters. Struggle through next spring and summer, start rebounding in the spring of 2010. Let's hope it gets better before then.

This sucks.

The main thing that bugs me is the media hype that will generate miserly-ness with people and companies. That affects our business hugely.

I already have several remodels and additions that are on hold till next spring, because people were "worried".

I hate the "negative mob-mentality" that these kind of announcements create.
