Quickbooks Premier Contractor V. Regular Quicbooks

Has anyone here used or is using Quickbooks Premier Contractor? If so, how is it different than regular quickbooks and in your opinion is it worth the additional expense?

What other business software have other found helpful to the business?

Cheers

I use quick books pro, not the contractor version. I looked at the contractor version and the features it offered I already had in place in the pro version.

If i was starting over and the money was not a problem I would by the contractor version. Easier setup and maintain. It takes some of the learning curver away and has some feature that make using it for construction easier

I also use their payroll service easy as pie. The only problem with their payroll service is that you will have to upgrade the software every few years

I've been pricing the quick books around here and it's 299.00 for contractor version and 99.00 for basic. The trade off you say is it's easier to learn. That's it? I was going to get the contractor because at the end of 09' the tax man say's I can claim it as buiness expense. But if the only gain is it's easier to learn I might put the $ to better use.

$200 worth of your time & aggravation flys by quickly, but maybe that's just me

Entering the information into quick books correctly and in the right location saves you a lot of time if it is done right the first time.

It also has a few functions that are simplified for contractor use

I can get the QB Pro free from a friend, but was looking for someone with experience with QB Contractor....It sounds like it's not really worth it if sits only a matter of a quicker learning curve to the same end. Can you give me an example of the biggest difference ?
