Re: Question On Painting House

If you are subing the paint to another contractor, why don't you ask them? I am not trying to be a smart ass, but that will give you the most accurate number. It's going to be hard for anyone to give a number since there are so many unknowns: one storey or five, one color or six, how much masking off, trees in the way, etc.

Re: Question On Painting House

10 - 15%?? That won't cover cost of doing business. If you can't ad 30%+, you are better off just refering the painter to the homeowner and stay out of the middle of it. mike

In the painting section I had a thread like this. I have a house that needs painting, about 2500sqft and I was thinking $6-6500 but that was scraping the old paint off. I looked at the house and Im even thinking that may be to cheap. Probably be just as cheap to put vinyl up by the time you scrape it.

5500 would probably be about right for a easy paint job. You should make 1k atleast so charge the HO $6500-7k.
