Question On Home Automation System

Hello, I was hoping an electrician in this forum can help. I am in the process of purchasing a home, but the home has a complete home automation system in it with a state of the art theater. The owner is excluding every part of the home automation from the sale, including light switches which can control music, sprinklers, tv etc from any location in the house.

This is a super advanced system which the owner told me cost $300,000 for equipment and to install.

Since the home automation system controls everything, nothing (including lights) will work if it is removed. I need to minimize my risk with this home purchase. I simply want the house back to normal. With normal light switches and wiring. My question is this. Assuming worst case scenario can anyone give me a ball park number on how much it would cost for an electrician to wire this house to its original state?

I am just trying to gauge if it is worth it for me.

Thank you!

You came to the right place. I bet you get a dozen estimates here. Pick the lowest one.

Re: Question On Home Automation System

I'll be nice. No one can give you a "ball park price" sight unseen, especially with no more info than you have furnished.

If you can afford to purchase a home that had electrical automation costing $300,000.00 I am sure you can afford to hire a qualified Electrical Contractor to inspect the dwelling and give you an accurate estimate.

Better yet, I would insist the seller leave the home in working condition.
