Hello homeowners, I am a General Contractor in the Chicagoland area. Have you joined this site to get an honest opinion of what kind of pricing you should expect from a professional contractor? You are not alone. In the past I have fielded many questions about honest pricing. I have priced everything from foundations to rooflines, and have done so honestly. Big project? Small project? Doesn’t matter, I know the maximum price you should pay for any sized project.

I am not going to be nosey. If you would like a price on, lets say, building a house, I do not need to know what location of the country your intended project is, all I need to know is the total square footage of the house and the exterior color. That’s it! For a kitchen project, all the information I will need is the approximate size. No need to measure though, just tell me if it is small, medium, big, or enormous. With that alone I can get within $100 of your actual price. But lets be realistic, my kitchen price will not include an allowance for your appliances. Should you wish for pricing to include appliances just ask. That’s it! So it’s is really as easy as this; If you are looking for a price on a medium kitchen without appliances all you have to post is: “Peladu, Kitchen, Medium, No Appliances”. After I do about thirty seconds of research I will have you a number that will be within $100 of the maximum price possible you should pay. Decided you need a new bathroom and want an honest price? I have them, and it’s even easier than pricing a kitchen. All I need to know is the total square feet of your entire house (please include attached garage square footage into this number) and if you are wanting ceramic on the walls or not. That’s it! So you would ask, “Peladu, Bathroom, 2000sqft house, No Tiles,.”, and boom, fifteen seconds later I will have your price within $50 of the maximum you should pay in an open market. It’s that easy for me, remember I am a General Contractor, this is what I do!

Let me explain why this is so easy for me. I went and purchased a Special Contractor To Contractor (SC2C) coupon number. I have been fortunate enough to be able to afford the $250,000 it cost to buy the SC2C number and the $5,000 yearly membership dues. What this number does is entitles me to get the lowest price imaginable, I am a GC that’s how I make my money. For example, I helped a former homeowner member from this site, like yourself, get the best possible pricing on her new kitchen and all she asked was, “Peladu, Kitchen, Small, Appliances, Thanks!” That was it! I took in those variables, because face it they are really all that’s needed for an accurate quote and punched them into my proven excel spreadsheet and bam! There it was, her special pricing amount. When she went to her contractor, and I never did find out where she lived, and told him that she had the SC2C pricing and handed over a printout of our postings, I guess his mouth fell open.

But let’s face it, I am missing some important questions from our homeowners who are doing price checks, when they post in all different places on this site. I am running from Roofing, to Painting , to Carpentry just to cover my bases. I do not particularly enjoy when a member gets angry with me because I missed their posting requesting a price for a foundation and it was all the way over in the Excavation section. (You know who you are)

To make sure you are given accurate pricing please enter your information as I outlined above. “Kitchen, Large, No Appliances” or “House, Big, Royal Blue” or “Bath, 1500sqft house, No Tile”. For the other jobs, use this format also, for example, “Roof, Big, Brown” or “Dog House, Chocolate Lab” or “Paint, Bedroom, Blue” or “House, Blue, Exterior” or “House, White, Interior” It’s is really that simple! All I ask is you give me at least 24 hours to respond to your request. Thank You and let me see what you want priced! Lots of solvent based paints/stains.....kinda makes me jealious in a way, but that is one trade I do not like!! So if it makes the day go by better with a material based buzz, slather up the brushes and get to it!!
