Prepaid Labor

I saw this guy driving his van at lunch today.
http://www.prepaidlabor.com/
Kind of an interesting concept.

Thoughts?

Re: Prepaid Labor

If he didn't have HIS name slammed all over his truck I might consider hiring him. Heh. No I'm kidding

What would the benefit be?

Re: Prepaid Labor

Thats what I thought a first to, kind of a professional sub-contractor but he seems to be aimed at homeowners.

They pay him for a 3 hour block of time and then call him as they need thim.
I'm not sure what the benefits are... Just interesting.

Re: Prepaid Labor

Yeah if I was a home owner I'd want my cash in my pocket and I'll pay for the repairs as needed... unless his hourly rate is cheapo pre-paid then maybe if I were a senior citizen I'd pre-pay him.... Hmm maybe I just hit on his gimick.

It only takes 4 mins to change a light bulb but he got paid for 3 hrs.

Re: Prepaid Labor

Grumpy, I agree with the light bulb post.
This is like rebates and all of the other crap that marketers are coming up with these days. Lets see, you pay the guy $180 for 5 hrs. ahead of time and lose his card (a lot of elderly in his area), can't remember the exact name of his company and he's up $180 for doing nothing.
Gonna give us all another black eye.
