You should be arrested for installing that back splash

I'm surprised that NY doesn't have a law against it!

Incredible work! How are you able to match all of that old plaster? Do you make a mold?
Steve

We taking rubber or silicone mold directly from the original moulding, 2-3' long depending on repeat, making good, clean pattern, other rubber mould, cast and install. On this particular crown was made plain crown and dressed with acanthus, small brackets, flowers between brackets, eggs and darts and hooks and eyes.

I'd love to see how you do that (without driving to NYC). Do you think maybe sometime you could take pics of the process and give us a Basswood-style tutorial?

Tinstaafl (Capra aegagrus)

When I work on large peaces it's no time for photos and hands are dirty. I have few a little more detailed photos for making small peaces. There was used poyo putty - two components mold making silicone. It works fast, mixed by hands and gently pressed on original ornament. Plaster coat on rubber to keep it inflexible.

Usually it goes like this. You have nothing on the left and original on the right. Make a mold.
