It is pretty bad. We had to take 1 1/2" (tapered) off the left side of the island. It's only 6' long.

She probably had to pay you more for dicking with the install, than trying to correct the actual issue.

No, we would have raped them pretty good to fix the floor. It would have been pretty easy too. Old house with members to long to span the distance they did. Typical.

Tight fit on this one. We're going back to add Acrylic Sheets on top later. I really wanted to try some of that polycarbonate stuff Mac had posted to give that a whirl, but it is just seems impossible to find the 16mm stuff around here.

Nice job, But why not just use a ledger board on the house, the whole post and header system looks a bit odd. JMO.G

Agreed with the ledger on the house. That patio door will be a bitch to ever change out.

I wouldn't have done it either, but she didn't want me to attach it to her house.

There is more space than it looks like, but trimming the top would be a bitch. Money talks, I made a decent amount on this because it was so quick.
I also would have like to do a nice cut on the tails, but she wanted it like her neighbour down the street.

I hear all that. I have to put the third coat of white on rice, down the street from me. All white house, trim, windows, now.... white railings, ugh!

This was what I had a new guy doing Friday. It was hot....really hot. and this is a 450 sq/ft room addition I was supposed to start a few months ago. Stripping the stone with a hammer drill and bull pin to save it, and the mortar is pretty tough! Monday, we will partition with a temp wall when the real demolition begins.

Do they realize they can buy new brick for less than you can take it off for and save it. Doesn't look like a fun job, especially in the heat. But it is work. Better than some guys have.

Beautiful. You're certainly in the right place to be doing detailed plaster work.
Got any more pictures you'd like to share?

Finally got a break with the weather and was able to intall the door I made a while back.
The fitting went well. Had to do some tapered cutting, as I figured. On the hinge side I needed to do a tapered cut from the bottom to the top, zero on the bottom and 1/8" on the top. On the top of the door it needed a 1/16" taper from zero to 1/16", the 1/16" was on the hinge side also. On the bottom it needed a zero to 1/8" taper, the 1/8" was taken off the lock side. Nothing needed to be done to the lock side stile. The jamb was in medium to poor condition. Most of the bad portion was near the lockset, looks like it was broken into quite a while back. Painted over many, many times. There will be a few dutchman that need to be installed to make the jambs right. I use a metal interlocking weatherstrip on the threshold. I use rubber slot insert weather stripping (Pemko) for the perimeter of the door, not installed in the picture.
