Re: Post A Picture Of Your Current Job.
Doing a reface on a kitchen in a bed and breakfast in Mystic, CT. Originally was a plywood panel door with a 3/8" rabbet as an overlay door. Client is doing a lot of the work on the walls I am refabricating the cabinet look. I am putting in shaker style inset doors using Euro hinges, shaker drawer fronts using the original drawers and slides. Changing them from overlay to inset by ripping off the 3/8" rabbet and moving the slides back by 3/4" and adding the drawer front.
New refrigerator cabinet, side panel is a 50-50 shaker panel. The cabinet is only 12" deep. She wanted to hide the gap between the refidge and the wall while you enter the back door. ![]() New built in oven and microwave cabinet ![]() New cooktop cabinet and the two longer uppers were added onto the existing cabinets. The uppers use to be straight across, I cut out the center where the range vent will be going and added onto the left and right side cabinets. What a pain, the walls and cabinets were not plumb or level. Mine are. ![]() ![]() ![]() I made a swing out 1/4 lazy sue and put slide out shelving in the blind area of the cabinet. ![]() ![]()

Re: Post A Picture Of Your Current Job.
Nice Leo, may I see how that style hinge works with a inset door?
I am old fashioned and like seeing the hinge on that style cabinet. I am curious about the adjustments with the Euro hinge and inset door. |

Re: Post A Picture Of Your Current Job.
She specifically wanted the Euro hinges. I thought it would look better with a surface mount "H" or "HL" hinge.
Here is a picture of the hinge. Only one I have so it'll have to do. ![]() This hinge has a 3 way adjustment. up/down, in/out, left/right about 3 mm. Plus they come right off which is very convenient when you are transporting them and hanging the cabinets.

To bad you couldn't get them to replace all the cabinets, always feels like a waste of time but money is money.
I'm sure it will be another quality Leo job . |

Re: Post A Picture Of Your Current Job.
I hate this crap. I agree, replace it. Right now I am working on this kitchen and a large cherry kitchen. I have another in the works that has been pushed aside. If I could work 24 hrs a day it would be great. But I do need some sleep.
![]() The Cherry job is starting to take shape in the shop. I had the GC come in the last 2 Fridays and ask where the cabinets are. I pointed to a big stack of plywood and said they are in there somewhere, some assy required. Of course, today I have a bunch of them assembled and he doesn't show up. I have another 2 or 3 weeks to get them finished. All the doors and FF are made. All box parts are made and have a sealer coat on the interiors. So I glue them up, sand them down and spray them. I got a new spray system today, A Kremlin 10.14 with the MVX gun. I've only played a bit with it and am learning how to use it. So far, so good. Hope I can figure this out because I have 17 cabinets to spray. I never spray assy cabinets inside and out. Usually finish the insides and them tape and paper and then spray the outsides. This will hopefully save me a lot of time.

Re: Post A Picture Of Your Current Job.
Thanks Leo.
I feel your pain on mating the old to the new but, I always enjoy a challange. Plus isn't there a PIA charge for jobs like that? Thanks for showing me the hinge, I like that style of cabinet but, I think they would look more appropiate with surface mount hinge as well. |

Re: Post A Picture Of Your Current Job.
Block bottom? Or Ceramic block? Did you get your steel pre-rolled for the roof, or bend enough yourself. It makes me smile everytime someone gives an old barn some love!
