I always call those window seats. It has a hinged lid for accessing storage inside.

I have completed a 14'8" wall of cabinets, display shelves and pilasters that I don't yet have a picture of. Here is a CAD drawing of the wall of cabinets. All from the same wood, Sapelle'.

Don't know what kinda dough you make. But in DC/MD/VA with that kinda talent. In historic renovations you'd be richhhh. Seriously you'd be booked for life.

With my help/mark up of course

Of course I can always ship it out to you. I don't care what you charge them for it, just as long as I get my asking price.

Thanks

Is that the unfinished base in the
second pic too?
I thought it was likely poplar...
didn't know there were exotics
in the mix.

I do hate G-town and usually will not go up there.

But if I do. KY has been generously applied and every is clear on their roles.

RBS calls the shots, HO writes the checks and pays for the parking tickets and fines.

Leo's Cabinets will have a 150% mark up and they pay it with a smile

Yup, Poplar. I was suppose to pre prime everything but the installers work faster than I can make the stuff. So they told me to skip the pre priming and just deliver the wood work. I certainly didn't mind. On several occasions this happened. At one point I was working 14 hour days for a few weeks at a time, I got sick because of it. After that I told them 12 a day was the limit for me. Hasn't been a problem since. Most of the job is paint grade, made from poplar. I have 2000 LF of exterior trim, 2500LF of interior moldings, 24 poplar man doors, 4 Mahogany man doors and all jambs casing and moldings around them, 30 window casings and stops, a bunch of paneling and wainscoting. The "boxes" in the 1st pictures have doors that slide out and cover the French doors. The Green Rm, which is the only 2nd non painted room in the house has all that recessed paneling, the hidden slide out cabinet, the coffered ceiling, the 14' wall of cabinets. Plus, about 10 years ago I built their kitchen, library [the other stained room] and a sitting room. I have quite a few hours with these folks. And phase II is coming up !! So far, according to the GC, they have dropped about $800K into this addition.

I didn't say I was getting the $800K, I wish.

Hate to say it, but I work alone. What happened to the 150% mark up?

I don't think there are enough hours in a day to make that much millwork by myself. Maybe I will need to hire you. You can do all the bull work while I watch.

Gotta see picks of the African woodwork,
I only know that stuff as guitar wood.
Did you ever post pics of your shop?
That would be interesting to me.
