Re: Post A Picture Of Your Current Job.
This job was done in Jan and Feb. we took a bedroom that was touching the master bed thru the old master closet and demo'd the closets turning the bedroom into a giant closet.
the closet boxes are something the home owner wanted to look like her clothing store. the homeowners are not people who can visulize things, so i ended up re-making a couple things, and adding stuff, 4 times. these people had a lot of clothes. i mean a lot. the island is 2 sides and has 18 drawers. that part took me a while to make as i had never done that before, and i had only made dovetails once or twice before. i learned a ton on this project, and if i had to do the exact thing again, i am sure i could do it in half the time. ![]() ![]()

Re: Post A Picture Of Your Current Job.
Started out as a 'simple' deck re-finishing until uncovered all the mistakes made by the contractor who constructed it.

Re: Post A Picture Of Your Current Job.
I have been working with these old cast iron column radiators. Does anybody know who rebuilds these old ones or who can make me some replacement fins?
Love the "Helmut Spanner".

@Resta, I am more of a modern/contemporary type of guy but your work is beautiful. Is that a house?
@Bonzai, that is a nice deck, what is the wood? is that synthetic? or Cedar? |

Re: Post A Picture Of Your Current Job.
This is the same deck BEFORE I started the treatment ... it is pressure treated cedar (yes I know, normally PT is not cedar but in this case it is). The previous contractor used a Sikens one-step stain which they applied immediately after construction (so the treated wood had not weathered) and they also nailed everything together with a nail gun but I guess they couldn't find galvanized nails that day so next Spring the client plans to start screwing it back together as the PT chemicals eat the nails and it falls apart ;-) The stain I used is the Sico translucent & the color is called Pine Cone. It took 3-4 coats to get this shade & consistency ie. 5 gallons of stain at $70 per!
