Picky...it litterally throws my perception off. The leftside of the gable apears to be longer then the right side....the first few seconds I saw it I thought maybe it was custom built like a Dr.Suess house. I do understand however, it is just my eye....

ANYWHO...

This is what I did today. Installed some cabinets I made. Melamine Cabinets, laminated with the same Formica as the counters...my belt held all the tools I needed for the install...three trips up to the office. Two for the cabinets and one for the tools. One trip down and done.

Well the entire deck got stained and turned out nice. This look it the way he wanted it. With a coat of brown stain you could not tell what was green treated or brown treated.

We got the siding under way this week. Looks like next week we could be dealing with a foot or two of snow. I hate snow

Mighty fine work Crovello.
You mentioned that the shingles were dipped. How long will they keep that color?

Re: Post A Picture Of Your Current Job.

They are dipped in Cabot's Clear Solutions.
I have not used this before so I don't have first hand experience. From what I have read it does not last as long as some other finishes.

More often that not we use shingles dipped in bleaching oil. This seems to hold up nicely around here.
I have shingles dipped in Cabot's stain on my house. It is 10 years old and could use another coat but still looks good. It certainly extends the life of cedar shingles to have them dipped in some type of stain or oil.

What did they used to dip the shingles in say 40-50 yrs ago? Those things never rotted & wood bees & termites won't touch it. Gotta be something that's banned now?

Re: Post A Picture Of Your Current Job.

They made it easy for us to look good on this job... bathroom is also hallway (gives new meaning to the term "hall bath"), utility room and laundry room. The walkway is so narrow the toilet was turned sideways... do you like riding side saddle?

The new design moved the hot water heater and water meter to a utility room. Moved and turned the toilet, moved the washer/dryer to a new laundry area in a new hall. The goofy 1/2 bath is to be a nice 3/4 bath.

I'm doing the shop work now (linen cubbies, etc.).

More pics in January.

Cheers,

Bass

Re: Post A Picture Of Your Current Job.

Looks great! A bit too much cedar for my taste, but it isn't my home...haha. 18" #1 cedar shingles? I like the two step down low.
From what I know, generally the darker the stain, the longer they last. On my home, the dormer has cedar and they were dipped in Sico (Canadian Rona brand). The hornets seem to love it.
cheers, melli

Can't wait to see the improvement photos. That is one ugly bathroom. You could make an improvement by just deleting that photo.

Please excuse the poor quality of the picture and the old fridge.
This was an insurance restoration, so it was pretty much the same as what was there before.

Making some doors for Alex (Splinter). He has 15 doors that needed to be made that another company tried to make and didn't meet his standards. Hopefully I can do better. A couple of pics.
