Is there a particular reason why the honeycomb isnt filled? Is it filled later or just left for effect?

Looking good Leo. Are those functional with the S as the handle or no?

Can't tell if they have a hidden hinge that allows them to swing past the trim some how.

I thought you had a thread on them but my brain needs defragged as to the discussion.

Really just a design choice, the option is always given, as long as the "BLOWHOLES" are not on the surface, all is well, IMO it adds another detail that i like. G

does the jack post, concern you? I'd be afraid to have a finished top sandwiched by a point load.....I don't know the situation, just looking at the pics.

Great work as usual!

edit: My apologies I see the notch....sorry...

No problem, Those posts are very lightly loaded, no deflection, the original roof was framed strangely, when i barreled it the whole system locked the rafters in place, kind of like collar ties. However i felt better leaving the jacks in and i will make them part of the design. It just occured to me, the top is not sandwiched, the posts continue down to the basement, the top is notched around it. G

Beautiful Job Genecarp. Do you have any more photos of the top or installation?

Looks like about 3 1/2" to 4" thick. Did you consider 1 1/2 to 2" thick with a dropedge? Have you used EAP sealer? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just getting into the business (concrete countertops).

Great work.

Gene,
Did you use the big chunk of wood in the photo for any part of the counter?

Thanks Richard, 31/2", i wanted a massive look for this piece, I also used a 1'' foam core and wire, this cut down a bit on the weight, i have done dropfronts before, I use good quality oile base sealers, high solids.
