Oh by the way people, before I forget to mention; I DON'T REALLY THINK THE COP IS "CROOKED", I just don't see how he came up with the "speeding" call, and really, I know I wasn't speeding... but I wanted to add a little drama to the thread title in light of the "Beer gate" or what ever you call what our president was having at the White House yesterday (same day as the post) and because of a previous thread...
And I'm playing on the fact that when a white person gets an unfair deal, all we can say is that it was a crooked cop, ... I couldn't "pull the race card"... although I wanted too. So in the end I'll let the judge decide but, know this; I WILL FIGHT THIS TICKET! as much as it pains me and I know it will cost me more in time and money, it's the principle of the thing... and I know getting out of my truck was stupid, but shooting people is a bit much... |

when the cop came up to your window and told you he clocked you at 48 mph and showed you his radar gun. Was his dashboard cam and remote audio running?

I got a rediculous ticket from a cop in northern Wisconsin that was not necessarily a crooked cop but at least lazy.
I pulled out of a Burger King at 8:00 AM on a Sunday morning. I had my coffee and my french toast sticks (with syrup) on my console and was about a mile away with my cruise control set at 57 (55 zone) and enjoying scenery since I only had 300 miles to go, when I was passed by 3 big SUVs doing about 80 or more. About a minute later, I saw blinking lights and pulled over to make room. I was then pulled over and given a ticket for 71 and the cop said he was being nice and reduced the speed. It was on a Sunday morning and if I wanted to appeal, I could stay over for the 8:00 AM hearing on Monday or drive back 300 miles to be at the hearing the next morning. Since there was no logical choice I ended up paying the fine (about $120) and did not fight it. P.S. - I was driving a Corvette and it was at the end of the month or quota period for the police. Since it was my first violation in 40 years there was no penalty on insurance. I could have easily outrun the police and the SUVs, but why?

Rules 3&4 are be polite and shut the %^&* up. I feel your pain though, in the little town I live in the police are over ambitious. I've been pulled over more times since I moved here than my whole life previously... Things like "Your ball hitch is obscuring one of the letters on your license plate" and other inane things... |
