Re: Ouch

Hope you didn't fall on that forstner bit/router combo you were considering! Just reading about that made me count all my fingers just to make sure.

tons of composite router dust on composite decking at perimeter is like banana peels, happened so fast it almost surreal. at 10+' off the deck I knew trying to brace for impact or land would for sure result in broken shoulder ,wrist, ankle, femur and or neck, so I just rolled with it and did a summersult flat on my back. got the wind knocked out like you have no idea, felt like a fish out of water, composed myself got up shook it off felt like a freight train just hit me, but ok, went to the van to lay down for a minute and when I got up I was so dased and confused, I didn't know who I was what I was doing or where I was. Figure it took about 15 minutes for everything to start making sense. can't even tell how many railings I've done up to edge of the deck, but this time it was all the router chips that kicked my ass. hindsight 20/20

Re: Ouch

You hit the backhoe? If you did........f'ing ouch. I hit a concrete slab at about that distance a few years back and the neighborhood got a good taste of every swear word I know. I hope you checked yourself into the emergency room just in case. Sounds like you might have a concussion.

I swear the 3' to 10' falls hurt the worst. Been there, done that. And Sat., a new yo-yo dropped a 12' 2x6 10' onto my head! I woulda been hurt if it had hit anything else!

Re: Ouch

The dazed and confused part hints to me of a concusion. I know there are a lot more concerns about one these days than in past. Can't hurt to consult an MD.

Glad to hear it wasn't a LOT more seriuos. Always good to know how to tuck and roll.

Re: Ouch

The pastor from our church was waslking across his icy driveway to go buy some salt from the store across the street. He slipped smacked his head thought he was fine. Then about 6-7 months later he had stroke symptoms. A tiny blood vesel in his head broke and filled the cavity around the brain with blood putting pressure on the brain. They had to drill a hole in his head and let the blood out. I guess this happens alot and had killed people before sometimes years later. Hes fine now but I would say better get checked out just in case. Should only cost about $2500.
