Official Greeter For New Members

I think that the size of this forum may be intimidating to some newcomers and I suggest that we nominate a member per week to be the "Official Greeter" to say Hi to the newly registered victims and sort of give them a guided tour of the functions of this site.

Obviously, anyone who posts in this thread would be too biased to be chosen, so they would have to decline the honor, unless some primordial self preservation instincts kick in, in which case, they could be allowed the temporary badge of honor.

Any nominees?

Ed

Rory would make a perfectly fine choice, as long as he does not respond to this thread, eliminating his nomination from the pool.

AtlanticWB seems to be the most prolific greeter already. I'll nominate him.

Good Luck

They are both just Sociable Post Count Whores.

Look who's talking though, right?

Actually, if RBS doesn't reply within 24 hours of being nominated, he is ahead in the vote tabulations up to this point, the 1st Honor will be all his by defacto.

Yeah, this is like the Boy Scout Committee!
The guy who doesn't come to the meeting
gets stuck with the job.

My greetings seem to take the form
of challenges lately....

Re: Official Greeter For New Members

Do we get something if we volunteer someone else to talk to the new guy? And while we are at it, I think the guy that is volunteered needs to have as title under their name, something real flashy, and maybe colourful…..say maybe Hi, I am a CT volunteered greeter.

It is my opinion that the more "Structured" an entity is, the Greater the chance for collapse and failure.

In a lesser "organized" situation, if something goes awry, it is no big deal because it is not going to upset the entire Applecart.

So yes, I DO agree with the WallyWorld comments.

Well put, Malco. The allied invasion forces prevailed on D-Day on the Normandie beaches because the "organized" plan went right in the crapper as soon as we hit the sand and it was the adapt and overcome attitude that put our troops over the top. As Eisenhower once said: "A plan is only good until the first shot is fired."

Don't complicate things by making them so uncomplicated.

That sounds like another organization that has no leaders and no funding and no direction, yet continues on and expands continuously.

Another winning slogan maker. I think I know where you will be well received when the economy collapses, with only Wally World remaining in existence to rule the world.

Todays statistics for those that are looking for a job in the retail world.

Only one out of 45 will be accepted.

MD has what it take.....Do You?
