NYS Lien Law help

Hi to all...new GC....Long Island, NY
I have worked for many years as a project mgr for other GC's and not once did I run into a request for a Lien Release.
NYS, on their consumer website, tells consumers that a Lien Release is a MUST HAVE. It is designed, in this case, to protect the Home Owner from getting hit with a lien from subs or suppliers who have not been paid by the GC.
I'm confused, of course. NYS has no standard form, nor does Nassau County.
Any thoughts or info on this here in NY would be greatly appreciated as I have a client who has asked about this before they will sign my contract.
What should it say? I'm certainly not going ot list all of my subs & suppliers up front to a prosepctive client, as I would then have to list their $ figures. This is contractor suicide.
Thanks.
