Nwbie / Help With Pricing Info?

Hi all, recent economic develpments have forced me to expand into a new trade. I've done plenty of home projects and feeling comfortable expanding my services to include big projects. My question is about pricing. I'm answering a bid for a kitchen remodel and aren't sure how to price for the job.

Hi Zombie****Star.
What type of home projects have you done? Sounds like from the way you worded your post that the biggest change in what you are doing is the size of the job.

Can you elaborate as to what it is about pricing that has you reaching out? Are you now a licensed GC, and will you be hiring subs?

I think you'll get better feedback and advice from the guys on this forum if you're more specific.
You might want to post an introduction as well, let everyone know what area of the country you're in and what your primary trade is.

You WILL be eaten alive at first if you don't

I wonder if that's on his business card or truck signage.

In any case, as the Monkey said as he slid down the razor blade:

Just tell them you'll do the kitchen for $1995, and if they call within the next ten minutes, they'll get the bathroom remodel free. BUT WAIT! That's not all-instead of four easy payments 0f 498.75, they can get it all for just THREE EASY PAYMENTS of 498.75.

So, he's a Goth contractor, what's wrong with that? My fingernails get black sometimes too, usually it's Sikaflex though.

I knew this would be a fun post.

First of all Merry Christmas!
Next is, how da hell does someone called Zombie****star from Guntown, Mississippi decide to learn pricing on Christmas eve?

But Dude? If your looking for the Gift of the Magi, we are 20,000 strong and your gift will be moments of magic by those who have suffered the slings and arrows of a challenging business.

I would rather say to you "why are the birds always singing, why is the sky up above always blue, but Yo don't cha know its the end of the world, you see, when you fell face down in CT".
Materials X 3 plus 10% for bribing the inspector.
Its not Dirt, he's at church.

This Iranian slam is more than enough to bother some of the posters here. Speaking for myself, some of my fondest friends and BEST Customers from the Atlanta Car Business, were of Persian Persuasion. Prickly-Stickers of Businessmen??? Yup. But GOOD People!

Give it a rest. It is getting past the point of acceptability.

Not asking you to Censor yourself, just asking you to be more Courteous. (and I am one to speak concerning Courteousness...Sheesh!). But really.....
