A nice way to end the day
For me that is. Seriously, this morning with the fruit fly story, I was really, really in a bad mood. I look on it and think...it really is kinda funny. My wife getting quite a yuck out of it.
So my day progresses. I get bizarre phone calls about bizarre things happening.
My daughter does ballet (she's 15) and this year she had knee surgery and wasn't expected to do much for the Nutcracker (always a grand event). Today, she got a premiere lead role, her first one. She's ecstatic.
Next, I get a call from my wife. Friends of my boys came over. One's a little overbearing, he "borrows" my sons bike to do a super jump. He flips over the handlebars, lands on his shoulder, stands up, says "YES! Awesome" while my kids are sitting there saying ".....ummm, you have something poking out of your shoulder.....like a bone" Clavical? is that right? LOL. Off to the hospital the kid goes, he's like 8 or 9.
Lastly (I promise!) It's good though! I get an email from my boss who's been in a ticked off mood at my dept because we've let a few mishaps slip through and that's never good. ATM, I'm installing cabinets at his sisters house. It's an older house and he titles the email "This Old House"
As I read on, I start freaking out. Apparently, one of our people have been in contact with the people of "This Old House". And guess what? We are doing a digital template in front of cameras! (This is my job now, not framing for those who don't know)
I am guessing and assuming that person will be me. I haven't heard anything except this email I got. But it's definite we're doing the show. There's only 2 of us in the DT dept. and Fed Ex lost the other guys machine coming back from a repair. We don't have any idea where it is. And then...I'm the boss LOL.
This is so cool! What a way to finish a day started by drinking fruit flies for breakfast!

I'm scheduled for the 6th of Nov. It'll be outside of Boston, of course. I'll be coming in after one of our guys in the shop does a stick template for a countertop. I'll be setting up the machine for a digital template and showing off the "new" technology.
Maybe Nathan would like to send me a Contractor Talk sticker and I can put it on the side of the machine like NASCAR.
Not sure when it'll air, but I will be anxious to hear myself. I'll probably be in the background measuring while the big guy talks to Norm.

Dude that is so awesome, Ive watched TOH all my life, it made be become a GC actualy. One day I thought it would be cool if they did a house near here and I was the builder for the show. Only problem is there isnt many older houses here and the few that are is a tiny dump in the slums that should be tore down. I cant wait to see you on it, Ill be watching.
