Define "Qualified Leads". These people are smart enough to know if you are going to do this properly.

A person to person communication with the H/O to start. Not just verification of a phone number or email address.

Thats what reliable remodeler said too. Finding out differently after 3-4 months now. Some of these "qualified" leads can't even figure out how I got there number!!

I don't care to find out that leads are 2nd or 3rd generated either. Those people get pretty pissed off, by that time they have had about 20 calls for a job they aren't going to do.

So what are you going to do so differently to make sure your paying customer (the contractors) don't get dicked around?

I'm ready for new ideas that work

I'm not trying to be negative or disrespectful but you'll need to be a lot more clear on verified contacts.
I myself have never paid for a lead via the internet or any where else and i would need a lot more than what you have posted to make me consider it.

Re: New Lead Website Thoughts?

So it sounds like the biggest problem are the leads. If we verify that the leads are legit via phone what else can we do? or any other comapny for that matter?

Verify the type of lead. Sometimes H/O's think that changing a door qualifies as remodeling and we're charged that way (more money)

all my leads will only be $15 for a silver membership and $10 for a gold.

no matter what they lead is.

and with the directory exposure it is the best deal out there.

What kind of financial backing do you have that I or anyone else would even consider forking over $ 999.00 to a start up venture?

Source of all leads? Are they 2nd/3rd hand from others? You say No, but how will you verify credibility?

Reviews by actual customers only? What about a ticked off HO that the contractor did not do a job for, but either did or did not do an actual estimate for? I have read quite a few things about bogus Angies List Reviews, even when the contractor declined to bid.

Also, validation of any complaints? And, does the contractor have rebuttal to any complaints?

Leads will be first hand.
$999 is a fair price a custom website alone can cost you that

The contractor will have a chance to rebutt compalints. Complaints will not be posted with out an investigation.

Again, they know their stuff. Anyway. If you are going to say qualified leads. You MUST call every homeowner and have a system that is telling them that a contractor is PAYING for what they should be paying for.
The contracting industry is trying to move to a situation where customers pay for estimates.

All sites i have seen, SM, RR , Respond, Myfreeestimates. Just to name a few, ALL say they are only selling to 3 contractors. This has been proven to be false.

How are you going to handle a HO that fills out your form and say's they are ready to do a job, when in fact they are only looking to see how much it's going to cost?

Are you going to play the newest game and link our business names to adword accounts that redirect the homeowner to your site when using our name?

If a client calls you and says, " HO hasn't answered the phone or email." What is your response going to be?

Are you going to give bad lead credits or refunds?

Cmon guy's, help me out here. I can't remember all the arguements ya'll have made.

I ask again:

What kind of financial backing do you have that I or anyone else would even consider forking over $ 999.00 to a start up venture?

Who are you and why would I trust $ 1,000.00 to a new stranger trying to promise me the world?

I am not just busting your chops. I would expect answers to similar questions, no matter what I was investing in.
