New Base Housing

So i am over here at Keesler which is in Biloxi MS. we are having around 700 new houses built for base housing. on wednesday the base had an open house showing off one of the Colonel houses. on first impression the place was really nice which i am sure that it is, but than i started looking at things really close and started finding problums found a spot in the floor that creaked now the house can't be more than a month old. i know that the contractor/sub got busted for having illegals. but that aside how do you QC a job that is 700 building strong?

Management. Lots of qualified motivated personnel. Hard to come by good QC on a job that big because there sre so many little details that have to be done right by the person doing the work. Too many details for even a full crew of supervisors to watch every minute. I think it's the hardest part of construction, just getting people to do it right and do waht they say they will.

Re: New Base Housing

Curious if they are being built by Actus. We are nearing the end of a similar project in our area built by them. I haven't been on base to check them out personally. There was another expansion here in the '80s. When questions were raised concerning quality the pat answer was they are built to last 20 years. Turned out to be true.

Good Luck
Dave

Wouldn't know about GC a project that big...los of headaches. I do know that it's our tax dollars in your hands. Just my opinion when in charge take charge. Do what ever you have to do, bust who you have to bust.
