Need Accounting Suggestions

I'm trying to find the best accounting software to keep track of my accounting and individual projects. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm using Simply Accounting by Sage, it's probably not the easiest to use or set up, but it does a good job with project modules and such. It's also what I was taught on during my years as a computer info systems and business admin student.

I use quickbooks. I don't do much of it myself, but my bookeeper does. She likes it. She recommended that I get what my accountants use,so that's what I did.

What do you want the software to do?

Exactly, what do you want your software to do?

I tested over $60,000 worth of software for the past 25 years and never found a software that satisfied my. Therefore, I learned to use MS Access and developed my own software. I have several applications (programs) that I have been trying to give away for free.

The problem I find with canned software packages is they have too many whistles and bells, and they integrate everything so the programs are difficult to use.

I run a plumbing shop with 30 employees and I made separate applications where each office function is on a separate program. My programs are much better because, for each customer, their entire record is on one screen. On one screen you can see the entire customer's payment history. I have another program for accounting and recordkeeping. With the systems I use, we do over 2,000 jobs every year, handle $millions, and my books are never one penny off.

I tried QuickBooks and several other programs. You need a secretary with these programs. With my software, I do not even have a secretary. I can show you how to set up your office so it is flawless.

I have a B General Builder license, but I do very little. I did design a program for writing contracts and it helps to track the status of jobs, but I do not get into the tracking of cost of a job, etc. Although, a simple program for tracking the cost of a job would take only an few hours and I will do it for free.

Tell a little about what you want software to do.

Here is a link to a free database we use. If you are interested in learning more about my software go to the 'View All My Posts.

To the moderators: This software is free and I will never charge one penny for anything that I post about on this forum. Please use your better judgment before locking the threads I post in. I will ban myself before you see me try to sell something in any forum. Never did! Never Will!
