That's obscene. You've got a few shekels wrapped up in that, for sure. How much would you guess?

You'll be ablt to flush a puppy down that toilet when you get it put back together, but I'll guess that the parts needed to get it working again are going to cost about a hundred and fifty bucks.

Re: My Latest Salvage

Nope works like a charm, I have one installed in my downstairs bathroom, I can get a new elbow, spud gasket and all fittings from the Hardware downtown for about 20 bucks. I think that is what I had in the other one. This one works great, took a tinkle in it before I pulled it.

Re: My Latest Salvage

Big dog, mean girlfriend and a moat!!

Neo, Its a STANDARD not sure of model though, my other one is a Modernus. It is stamped 1941 inside lid. Ummm you can rig them to use about 5 gallons, that is without putting anything in the tank. This one filled almost up to the top and I think that is about 10 gallons. Damn they must have had huge turds back then!!!!

Seven gallons are what they are designed to use, though some will hold eight.

Re: My Latest Salvage

That looks like the kind of toliet they used back in the day with a water closet. Where the Tank or whatever was mounted up high on the wall and it had a string or chain hanging down you would pull to flush.

Ps I Have a toliet in one of my bathrooms that is original to my house and i won't replace it because The flush is awesome. Its also in great condition.

What is a festool. I have never seen one?

Re: My Latest Salvage

747,
That is what this toilet is. THe tank only mounts a few inches above the bowl to the wall. It is a wall mount, I bubble wrapped the tank and the lid and packed them away for safe keeping untill I need them.

Check out festoolusa.com you will find a lot.

Seven huh, cool now I know for sure, before I just put a mark on the inside of the tank and filled it with gallon jugs till it hit the mark.

Re: My Latest Salvage

Nice score Warner, I have a toilet exactly like that one in my basement. You could flush a dead body down it
Nice festools as well, I'm assuming the customers get a little mad when you have to take out the doors and headers to get it in the house though

Re: My Latest Salvage

I have a couple of the huge old cast iron sinks with the old taps, some doors from 1860, old siding, part of a barn, knobs and other goodies coming out of my ears. Guess I cant throw anything away.
